Kmart? Really?

When I was growing up in Michigan and Ontario, Kmart was the only discount department store. We didn’t have Walmart or Target. In fact, I have fond memories of going to Kmart with my grandparents and getting a frozen Coke.

These days, though, I rarely go to Kmart. The stores just aren’t very nice, at least the ones by me. But Saturday we were in a different part of town and I ran in to look at shoes. I needed a ballet flat or something before church in the morning since it was time to put the sandals away.

You know, they had some cute shoes! They were also having a buy one/get one 50% off sale. The black flats and the cheetah print were on sale for $9.99, so I got those two pairs for $15. The orange and green ones were on clearance, which was take an additional 50% off, and still qualified for the BOGO. The first pair was $3.50, the second $1.75!

I’m not a big shoe person; I usually buy black or brown that will go with everything and don’t get much in the way of “cute”. So for me, these are fun and will spice up my wardrobe a little bit. Plus, I got all four pairs for just over $20!

Kmart! Who knew?

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway!

Never underestimate the power of
Kmart. As you see you never know what you might find.
Congratulations--love the orange and green ones, perfect for fall.
Those cheeta one's are pretty cute too--they'd look cute with jeans.

Have fun!!!

Melinda

Well who would have guessed! The shoes are darling---and they do have some personality. I am a pretty conservative shoe wearer, but these are just cute.

Branching out I see. I branched out, too and got black ones with a smallish wedge heel. Still black.

Cute!!!! I have the same type of memories of shopping at the "old" Kmart when I was a kid. I don't get to Kmart on a regular basis, but I do like to stop in at least once a month. I find great clearance there!

I really dislike Walmart, so I try not to go there at all. And I have a hard time with grown-up clothes at Target. But I can find tons at Kmart.

Your show deals were terrific! I have to return something to Kmart - maybe I need to peek at the shoes too!

Every so often Kmart surprises me too. I make it a point to go in and browse at least once a month or so because I never know what I'll find. Great shoes though - and an even better deal!

I can hardly type this b/c of the heart palpitations I am having over those leopard print shoes. I am normally not an animal print kind of girl, but ever since I found my zebra flats, I think it's okay for me in small doses. Shoes are a great way to spice up an outfit with a fun thing like animal print. Way to go!! :)

Hey Melinda. What a bargin and so adorable! I've a Kmart nearby and Neil gets his medicine there for only $4.00 per script. So when I'm in there which isn't very often I check out the shoes. Last summer I got the cutest little tennis flats (sorta like ballet slippers). One was denim with embroidery & the other was a denim & white polka-dot. I have totally worn them out. I got tons of compliments and they were so easy to leave by the door and slip into. They went with everything. Believe me I got my moneys worth.

Sorry so long, I just can't seem to stop today.
Happy Monday...Tracy

Cute shoes!! And great prices.

I remember the days of going to K-Mart w/my mom...back when using lay-away was the thing. Oh, those were the good old days :)

K-Mart is only about 1 mile from my house so I go there if I need basic supplies. I love their towels and bedspreads even better than Penneys. Martha Stewart has a very nice line of goods at K-Mart. They are related to Sears.

I grew up in Michigan, too! In fact, in the same town that Kmart used to have it's HQ in. So we were pretty loyal growing up, but now I don't have a Kmart, or a close Target, so I'm stuck with Meijer as I can't stand Walmart.
Cute shoes!

These are awesome. We don't have many Kmarts around here anymore, but I would go into one if I found gems like this.

Wow, how fun.
