This is the view from the window in our master bathroom.
It's a free peep-show for anybody coming down the street. Combine that with a clear glass shower, which feels disturbingly like being in a display box, and the first thing we did when we moved in was put up these blinds and close them. They've been closed ever since.
When I got the clearance shower curtains at Target a couple weeks ago, my wheels started turning. I wanted to use the fabric, rather than use it for its intended purpose. After seeing a similar cafe curtain arrangement in a magazine, I decided this would be a good solution.
It was a quick sew this weekend. The topper is all that was left at Walmart of a ticking stripe. It's a lighter brown than is in the toile, but I think it works okay. Although Craig doesn't really like it; he thinks it looks "granny". I do think it still needs a little tweaking.
But now I can open the blinds and let some light in, without showing the whole neighborhood our bizness.

Yea, Holly! That's amazing! You crafty girl!
That looks great!! Sometimes I think the whole neighborhood has seen us naked! That sounded bad but you know what I mean.....why do they put such large windows in the bathroom?!? :)
I think it looks great, Holly!!
You are very talented!!! Just found your blog & wanted to say Hello!
It looks really level. Great work.
I love them! I am also SO glad my master bath window opens to the back of the house and woods.
