Nester is having a Price My Space party, so we can all brag about how much we did or did not spend on our furnishings. This is right up my alley, as you know. I’m always happy to share how much I paid with anybody who will listen. I’ve pretty much already revealed all my prices, so I’m just going to do this one shot of my family room.
Couch: down-filled, slip-covered—craigslist, $200
Throw pillows: down-filled, consignment shop, $6 each (I plan to recover these)
Coffee table: IKEA, $30
Soda crates: craigslist, $5 each
Window: garage sale, $5 for a pair of them
On the mantel: glass pyramid-- thrift store, $2.50; mercury glass candlesticks—Michaels, on clearance, about $10 total (?); letter balls—HobLob, on clearance, dime each; birds—Dollar Tree (spray painted)
Approximate total: $274
This room is not finished, which is why I didn’t show the other side of it. But other than the fact that it needs something on the wall over the couch, I’m happy with it.
In the comments on Friday’s post about craigslist, I was asked for pointers. In tomorrow’s post, I’ll share some of my search methods.

I love your couch! Is it easy rto keep clean? I want a white couch, or at least a comfy arm chair and ottoman, but my boyfriend keeps vetoing me.
Any idea who made the slipcover? It looks like it would fit my couch perfectly!
