We're Back!

I hardly know where to begin!  We had a wonderful vacation; the weather cooperated, the kids were happy, the hotels were good, and IKEA lived up to the anticipation.  What more could you ask for?

The first night we stayed downtown Chicago on the Magnificent Mile and experienced city life.  It's always exciting and awe-inspiring when we get there, but it doesn't take too long to realize that it's a fun place to visit, but I wouldn't really want to live that way.  The sheer volume of traffic and humanity would get old quick.

That night we went to Navy Pier and rode the 150 foot-high Ferris wheel and the Wave Swinger and watched the fireworks.

On the Ferris wheel.

The Wave Swinger.

The next morning we headed for Michigan and the beach.  We got in four days of good beach time with near perfect weather.  The kids did a lot of this:

And this:

And this:

And I did a lot of this (reading):

A fun time was had by all!  I have more to show you so stay tuned!

The winner of the Sewing Calendar, as chosen by Random Number Generator, is  #25, Jocelyn of Happy Cottage Quilter.  Congratulations!

Glad you had a great vacation. Seeing your Chicago pictures made me miss our 7 weeks of summer there last year while my dh worked there. What a wonderful city to explore.

Glad you had a great vacation. It's always good to go but good to get home, too.

Looks like a great vacation. How did you like the Ferris Wheel? We went on the one at Niagara Falls a few years ago and I thought I would love it, but I hated it. I have a thing with heights! Even though it was closed in, I was terrified.

I miss the Chicago scene so much - thanks for the pictures! We moved from Illinois a couple of years ago and haven't been back since. We used to catch the train in and spend the day just wandering around. So much fun!!!

Glad you had a wonderful time. Can you believe I still haven't made it to IKEA??? It's just not right.

Glad you are home safe and had a good time.
We love Chicago too, but I'm with you--wouldn't want to live there.
The beach looks like fun.

Happy Wednesday.

What a wonderful photo of the Chicago sunset! We used to live downtown and the hustle and bustle was great for us (before kids :)). I'm so glad you enjoyed yourselves.
