WFMW-Windows Live Writer

wfmwbannerKRISTEN

Who in the world came up with the format for adding photos on Blogger? And why haven’t they done something about it? It’s so frustrating. Every photo goes at the top of the post, and you have to drag it down frame by frame.

After a while I got pretty good at uploading all the photos first, and then typing out my text. But you have to know what photos you want, and load them in reverse order. And if you forget one, or think of another one to add, yep, it goes to the top and you have to drag it down. The longer the post, the more frustrating it is.

Enter Windows Live Writer. It’s a free download, and I’m not computer savvy so I won’t use the right terms and all that, but you write your post using WLW and it uploads it to Blogger.

Best thing: it inserts the photo where the cursor is! No more dragging. Plus, you can choose photo size, rotation, border, and even effects after the photo is inserted! Oh, and add a watermark, which I did not do with this photo since it’s not mine. Awesome, and so much easier!

There was a bit of a learning curve for me, and I’m still new at it, so it’s not down cold yet. But if I can figure it out (for the most part) anybody can.

I will have to check this out. When I upload more than one photo I switch to the "edit HTML" tab. there are only two tabs when I am posting, to the right under the title bar. Then i just cut and paste where i want my photos. This site sounds like it may be helpful too though.

Thank you so much for this tip! I get so aggravated with having to move my photos--and I've noticed that if I add them after I've typed, the spaces get all wonky and stuff.

Definitely going to check this out, thanks!

Thanks for the tip... I too get frustrated with dragging the photos around, & if you choose to have one positioned to the left & change your mind... have to reload the picture... ugh.

I have a mac, but will be looking into this to see if it will work for me too :)

Remebering to do mine backwards is the hardest part- trying to reverse them once uploaded is darn near impossible. This is a great tip- I'm going to have to try it!

I need to look into this. The spacing fiasco that blogger edit puts me through if I upload another picture drives me wild!!!!

You may have to do a part 2 on this to talk more about where to get it, and how you connect it to blogger edit...or do you just cut and paste?

I may be hopeless.

Hi five girl! I think that's going to be my new way of posting now. I literally have felt like the woman in that photo so many time. I finally had to put the sledgehammers under lock and key.

Well, I have a Mac, so I'll keep doing it the old fashioned way. But I did figure out that once I upload a picture, all I have to do is right-click on it to cut & then put my cursor where I want it to go, then paste. I usually end up having to delete a bunch of extra spaces at the beginning, but at least I don't have to load my pics in a specific order, or reload them if they're out of order.
