Plate Arrangement, and a Little Business

I have lately been hit with spam comments, brilliant compositions such as this:

“We are delighted that our band Acquire Vi*gr@ Discount Apothecary is solitary of the first in the Internet, commonly, discount Ci*lis nowspecializing on online pharmacy Ci^lis.”

At this point they have been appearing only on old posts, so I have set comment moderation for posts older than 14 days. Hopefully that will take care of it. Please don’t hesitate to comment on an older post; I will allow your comment. Unless you are trying to sell you-know-what drugs, of course.

Moving on…I’m finally done hanging my plate arrangement, although looking at this photo, I think it needs a little tweaking on the right side.IMG_4509

I felt I needed some round elements on this wall, rather than artwork or frames, to offset the two big windows on the adjacent wall. The large platter, top middle, is from our set of everyday dishes. The rest came from thrift stores, at a cost of .50-$1.50 each, except the largest round one at $3.

I got these plate hangers at Dollar Tree. I liked that they came in white, and cost less than buying the brass ones, which even at Walmart were $2 and up.IMG_4514

However, they do NOT fit all sizes as claimed. They worked fine on the biggest plates, but even on the smaller platters I had to get Craig to bend it so the hanger wouldn’t stick up over the edge.IMG_4515

They didn’t fit the smaller plates at all. For them, I used Command strips. The smaller ones (on the right) hold up to 1lb and the bigger ones up to 3lbs, so they’re strong enough. I just wouldn’t use them in a high traffic area where someone might bump into the plate, because in that case I think it would be possible to dislodge the Velcro-like fasteners.IMG_4513

We have been in this house for 19 months, and I’m just now starting to get things hung on the walls!

YOU TOO! LOL! Yesterday I got a post for the same thing from about 30 days ago. How do they find us? Oh well, I think the plate idea is lovely - and it's turning out quite nicely. Love the creamy color of it against the wall color. Great choices!

I've recently received spam comments on my old posts, too! Almost the sames one you've gotten...hate them.

I really need to hang some plates- fyi there were coupons for command products in the newspaper last week...

The wall looks FAB! :) I've been getting some spam comments on older posts too lately, and they make me SO mad b/c I have a clearly worded "no spam" policy on my comment pop-up box. Grr!!!

I've been getting the same thing on my old posts also - isn't that annoying.

Great plate arrangement!

It just takes time. There's always something to do or redo here but we are on a pause moment right now.
Soon very soon we'll get back at it.

Good Luck.

Very nice display. For smaller plates you can also use these Adhesive Plate Hangers.

Thanks for the tip on the command adhesive hangers. Do you recall how much they cost?
