Partiers Wanted

You may have noticed that I haven’t had a Thrift Store Thursday post in a long time.  Or, for that matter, that I haven’t even mentioned a thrift store in a long time.

Unbelievable as it may be, I have hardly been to a thrift store since Christmas!  Maybe twice.  I just suddenly started feeling like I didn’t need to bring any more random items into the house; if anything, we need to get rid of a bunch of stuff.  Not necessarily stuff I bought at thrift stores, just the accumulation of 18 years of marriage, three kids and nearly a dozen houses.

But, I kind of miss my Thursday parties, so last night I was thinking about it…how about a party called just Thrifty Thursday?  It would be for sharing tips on saving money, economical and tasty recipes, and yes, any bargains you may have found at Target or a thrift store.

It’s a pretty broad topic, and would leave a lot of leeway for posts of different types, though I would kind of  hope to keep the focus on saving money and not just spending money on random things.  Admittedly, my original Thrift Store Thursday was usually more about spending.

So, what do you think? Any interest?  Would any of you participate?  I really value your honest input.

I would be here partying with you if you hosted!! I love sharing good deals I've found, and I find lots of them at Target :)

I think that's a great idea, Holly and I'd LOVE to participate! I agree with you about bringing too much into the house. I have found that I have a few thrift shop items that are really neat, but I just don't have the room for them. I'm all for saving money and doing things "smart" and would love reading what others do to save money. I'm in!!

Would love it! But I have to warn you--I'm prone to bargain envy when someone finds somthing I've been looking for!

Sometimes I do a "Thrifty Thursday: It's Chic to Be Cheap" post...I'd love to link up to you!! :) I'm going to start posting with Rhoda's Thrifty Treasures party too, so I should have some posts to share. :)

I'm with you! I haven't been into thrift stores too much lately. Too cold to spray paint anything, and not enough room to store *stuff.*

I think you should go for it! :)

Great idea!

I've been trying to move things out instead of bringing them in.

You totally should! I've also been trying to cut down on my thrifting- I kept bringing home more knickknacks which I will never need more of.

Grand idea! And if I can garner some ideas on what to do with the thrifty things that I already have, even better. I'd be a very willing participant :)

I think that this would be a great idea. I am always up to finding out how other people use their junk. Whether they buy it, or just repurpose something!

Great idea. I'm with you. I am trying to clean out and simplify too. After a while, we just get too much "stuff", don't we? Love & blessings from NC!

I like it -- regardless! I've never been a thrift store girl but I just love to see what other people have done AND to find ways to be MORE thrifty. Now that we're getting our home put back together (visit the blog -- you'll see the chaos I'm talking about) I'm eager to be able TO purchase a few items to personalize our space!

Sounds great to me! Could somebody include how to save money when all your kids are sick? I should buy stock in Ibuprofen!

Count me in! I'll be there! Maybe with a chocolate bundt cake! HA!

I sure miss your Thursday meme. I'd love to see cool ideas that we all do to save money. I just spent about an hour today covering mint tins with scraps of scrapbook paper to doll them up. It is a thrifty way to prepare to give some candy or a little trinket as a gift. I'd post that maybe the 1st week.

Holly....I'm glad you are back, girlie..can't wait.
