I Need a Maid

tired_housewife Ever have those times when you just feel out of whack? Like things are controlling you rather than you having things under control? Yeah, that’s me lately.

I have been married for 16 years, and have been a mother for 11. You would think I’d have this down by now, but I’ve just never been very good about being organized about everything it takes to run a household. I just can’t seem to get it all done, and I don’'t mean in an “I’m every woman” sort of way. I don’t work outside of the home, and currently all three kids are in school. That’s a lot of available time for mopping, laundry, cleaning bathrooms etc.

At various times I’ve tried different systems, such as Flylady or schedules I’ve made up for myself. They usually work (or I usually work them) for a while before it fizzles out. Right now I’m back at the point where I feel like I need some kind of plan.

I’m going to be thinking about that and hopefully I’ll have something to share before too long. Just kind of to keep me accountable. If you have a fabulous tip to inspire me, please share!

I've got 3 grown children (and 1 child at home), and the honest truth is, "Mother's never get completely caught up". So quit trying. . .I've always been a scheduled sort-of-person. I like to write down exactly what I plan to do on a given day and check it off as I go along. That's what works for me...In the meantime you can have sweet dreams of Merry Maids doing their magic to your house. LOL

Us stay at home moms NEVER get everything completely done. I mean think about it...we always have something we need or could be doing. My children are 15, 13, & 4. My biggest problem is taking time for myself. I feel like I just walk in circles all day.

I don't have kids and I still can't keep up. I think our expectations are too high.

I love being a stay at home mom but I despise being a housewife. It's just NOT for me. I need a maid too! I can't wait to see what plan you come up with!!

First of all, you need to get with the times and throw out that washboard!! Heehee.
Next, make a list each day, or use a planner to write out your daily/weekly schedule. Then, quit being so hard on yourself about what doesn't get done! Once I did that, life seemed a little more manageable. One of these days I'm going to learn to delegate simple chores to my daughter...they're never too young to learn to help.
Best wishes!

Oh Holly, if I did not already have a BFF, I'd be asking you to be mine right now - I am right there with you. Good to know I am not the only one!
