Highlights

The last 10-12 days have been great! Time really does fly when you’re having fun, and I can’t believe it’s over already! Boo hoo.IMGP1734 Me, Wendy, Laurie

Today I’m just going to give a little overview of a few things, and later in the week I’ll have some projects and purchases to show off. My sister Wendy arrived on July 22 and left the 31st. She is a workhorse and never sat down the whole time she was here. Not only were my dishes done and house tidy, but you should see the projects she did for me (you will, later)! She makes me feel like a slacker, but I don’t mind.

The first thing she did was help me pull off Skippy’s birthday party on the 24th. We showed a movie (Wall-e) in our backyard. Craig hung a sheet on the back of the house and projected it on that. We had pizza, koolaid, and cupcakes. For the movie there was lollipops and popcorn, and glow necklaces. It was simple, and everybody enjoyed it.

IMG_3444 That Saturday, we picked up the new puppy. You know, getting a new puppy when you have a houseful of guests isn’t really the best timing. But it went okay. It took us almost a week to name her; none of the original choices were working. In the end, we chose a name Laurie suggested: meet Sophie! And no, it’s not because of Oprah’s dog; I forgot all about that until later.IMG_3435

Lila’s not sure what to think yet.

That same evening, my sister Laurie and BIL Wayne arrived, and the fun really began! Shopping, gabbing, lunch together at a lovely cafe, we even tried a little craftiness and made some Scrabble tile pendants.IMG_3570Well, almost. There’s nothing to hang them on a chain with, yet. But Wendy thought it would be cute just to have them in a little bowl or something on display. I just may do that; they were pretty quick to make, and I have tons of Scrabble tiles, more than I could possibly use for pendants.

It was a blast! Love ya, sisters!

What a good time you had! When my sister visits, she spends most of her time with her friends, and gets bored with the kids quickly. She doesn't have enough patience for our house, haha. Sophie is adorable!!! :)

Sounds like a great time! I can't wait to see the rest of the projects. Your new pup is so cute. That's the kind I want when we get another dog.

Hi Holly! Good to hear your "voice". I'm so glad to hear that you had a wonderful time with your family. The backyard movie looks like so much fun! We have talked about doing the same thing all summer and haven't gotten to it. Now I think I really need to.
Can't wait to see all of the fun.

Awwww, what lovely sisters you all are. The party sounds great. What a fun idea. I just noticed your thrift store list on your sidebar. I'm going to copy and make one on my blog. Glad you enjoyed your sister time! :)
