The Happy Homemaker

A couple of weeks ago, I posted about not keeping up with the housework and needing a schedule of some kind. I have a little bit of catching up to do, so last night I wrote up a plan for this week only. It’s a start.

I’m going to focus one day for each child’s room, because I need to switch out winter and summer clothing. Also, even though they are supposed to clean up every day, they aren’t doing such a great job of it, and I think part of the problem may be that they need more organization in their rooms so they know where everything goes. My plan is to restore order, so that they can keep order.

I also did some bare-bones menu planning so that I’m not wondering what to get out of the freezer at 5 p.m.

Mon: iron Craig’s shirts, clean bathrooms, laundry. Supper: chicken

Tue: Skippy’s room, mop all hard floor surfaces. Supper: pork tenderloin

Wed: Pinkerbelles’ room, run errands (25% off at thrift store!). Supper: salmon

Thu: Firstborn’s room, start on master bdrm, vacuum upstairs and down. Supper: pasta

Fri: continue mstr bdrm (it’s the worst one!). Supper: pizza night

Okay, let’s roll. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I'm so behind too! I'm happy to see the barebones meal planning. That helps reassure me that starting somewhere is much better than not doing anything at all! :)

love your blog!

Menu planning is key at our house to keeping the evenings on schedule and running smoothly...and I'm with you, of the bedrooms, our is always the worst! Hope you have a smooth and productive week. :)

I've got to work on packing away the winter clothes. I'm always over-joyed when I finish with that job! Good luck to both of us!!

I just found your blog today - cute!

I totally agree with you about the need to add some organization to the kids rooms. My three kids try to keep the room clean, but when there just isn't a place to put a certain toy, how can they clean up? It's especially bad right now for us as my boys just had birthdays - so new toys without a home abound!

Look forward to reading more of your blog in the coming days. :)

Good for you! I so need to start planning my menus each week so I'm not running to the store just about every afternoon!

What a great idea! That kind of schedule might help me too! Working full time and then getting home, I don't feel like doing anything! But if I have something down on paper, it might help get me motivated!

I'm inspired. I work best off of a list. When I don't have one, I'm aimless. I hope you gets oodles accomplished!
