Thrift Store Thursday

Since I was out of town all weekend, I didn’t get to do too much thrifting this week. I did stop in to United Volunteers today for 25% off and found a few things.

  • 8” cast iron skillet. I’ve been looking for one of these; used is supposed to be good because it’s already seasoned.
  • 8 braided straw (or some other natural material) placemats
  • a tiny glass jar, about 4” tall, with shells
  • 4 kids books

My total was $6.80. I just love a sale at a thrift store!

Mr. Linky’s back this week. Share your deals!

1. Please link directly to your Thrift Store Thursday post, not your home page.

2. Please mention and link back to my Thrift Store Thursday post.

3. Please put my button in your post, and I'd really love it if you'd use the code to do so :)

My cast iron skillets are some of my most favorite and versatile pans. Great finds!

Lucky girl, I've been looking for a cast iron pan too! And, I swear, I bought that very same glass jar at my GW a couple of weeks ago! :)

I should get my cast-iron out and put it to use!

You found some great bargains - I ought to run by my GW and take a peek this weekend.

Hi Holly, thanks for stopping by "The Zoo" and for hosting another week of Thrifty Store Thursday.
I really like your lidded jar. I picked up one very similar to that at a barn sale last week for a quarter. It now holds all those scrabble tiles. Maybe not permanently, but it's cute for now.

I remember my mom ALWAYS used a cast iron skillet when we were kids. I have never had one. I love buying books at the thrift store for 25 cents each! :)

Hi. I just discovered your blog this week, and it is lovely. It just so happened that I wanted to post about my thrift store finds today, so I've added my link to Mr.Linky.

I've wanted to start using a cast-iron frying pan, but I'm a bit intimidated. My sister uses one all the time. The little jar you found is cute!

Holly, thanks for the party!
My husband is the only one around here who uses the cast iron pan. He swears by it, but it's too heavy for my weenie wrists.

Holly - I totally love your blog - I think I even added myself as a follower twice now, by accident! LOL! I'm checking out a new thrift store this weekend. If I find anything good, I'll link up next week! Kim

Hi Holly,
Thank you for stopping by "The Zoo" again.
I think it is kind of sad that there are no more chalkboards in schools. Don't you? My kids all have white boards in their classrooms. It just seems like something you should have as a kid. Oh well. At least my kids have them at home. ;)
Have a great weekend.

I love the place mats! I also enjoy picking up books. I can't stand to pay full price for books now. Do people really pay that price printed on the back???? :)

Also, loved the telephone insulator thingy from last week. My SIL has several and I recently found a really little one for her.

Hey thanks for the outlet to brag about out finds- I just joined but couldn't figure the mr. linky out so I thought that I'll just leave to a comment instead. Thanks again.

Holy,
Always appreciate you hosting events.
regarding putting your button on our posts with the code.
I have tried on several blogs to do this, and it never loads. I mean it just keeps going and going, like the ever ready battery bunny.

Maybe i am not doing something correctly.
Instructions anyone?? I think i am doing it under links in my gadgets.

Blessings.
Se your Thursday
